Hello I'm Catherine
I was born in Val d’Or (Abitibi) but have been living in Montreal for over 10 years. I’m a French speaker that is fluent in English.
You will know rather quickly about me that I LOVE BUNNIES. I have four of them (Winston, Meredith, Mabel an Theo) and they are not only my pets, they are a big part of my journey to manage my mental health.
Other than bunnies, I love video games (especially RPG and indies), Star Wars, cosplaying, broadway, listening to podcasts and hockey.
For my studies, I have a BFA in Film Studies from Concordia and a BA in Political Communication from UQAM
When the pandemic of 2020 happened, I was already rethinking my career as I was working in customer service for an airline company. A job that I liked but didn’t feel passionate about. Because the airways closed for a long time, I lost my job and felt it was a way for the universe to tell me to pursue the thing I always wanted to do but was told it was not meant for women: Graphic and Web Design.
John Abbott College made me grow from a self-taught Web Coding and Graphic Design to a confident front-end website designer and graphic designer.
My studies gave me the edge to learn and understand more about what it is to be a graphic designer and many theories and concept that online self-learning do not teach you. I feel like a stronger, more competent graphist after my three years of studies.
Since the summer of 2022, I have started to work in Graphic and Web Design for TV and Cinema. (more of the story on my blog post here!) and I am aiming at pursuing this field once I am done with school.
